Human-readable summary

Balance By Day is designed to run entirely under your control. We do not collect, store, analyze, or use any of your personal information or financial data for any purpose.

Your data stays with you

All account details, balances, forecasts, and any other information you enter into Balance By Day remain on your device or in the personal storage locations you choose. If you decide to back up your data, that backup process is fully managed by you and happens outside of our systems.

We never see, copy, transmit, or gain access to the information you track in the app. You can delete, export, or move your data at any time without contacting us.

No tracking, no advertising, no analytics

We do not collect website traffic logs beyond what is required to deliver the site securely, and we do not retain or sell any traffic information. Balance By Day does not run analytics scripts, serve ads, or share data with advertisers, affiliates, or third-party tracking services.

Third-party sync stays private

Balance By Day is a static web app with no server-side components. When you connect a cloud provider or authorize a third-party integration for backups, the authorization tokens, encrypted backup contents, and sync traffic stay between your browser and that provider. We never receive or view that data.

Google API user data disclosures

Balance By Day offers an optional Google Drive backup integration. These disclosures explain how the app interacts with Google user data when you enable that feature.

Data accessed

  • Balance By Day requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata scope to create, open, update, list, and delete encrypted backup files in your Google Drive App Data folder.
  • It also requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email and openid scopes to read the Google account email address associated with the integration so the app can display it to you.

How we use this data

  • Upload encrypted backup files you intentionally save from Balance By Day into your Google Drive App Data folder.
  • Download, list, or delete those backup files when you choose to restore, review history, or remove a backup within the app.
  • Display the connected Google account email inside Balance By Day so you always know which account is linked.

Data storage and retention

  • Google access tokens are kept only in your browser's local storage to maintain the session and are removed when you sign out, disable the integration, or clear the app data.
  • Backup files created through this integration live solely in your Google Drive App Data folder under your Google account. Balance By Day servers never receive or store copies of your backups or Google account data.
  • The app does not transfer Google user data to any Balance By Day infrastructure or third parties.

Data sharing and control

  • Balance By Day never shares Google user data with advertisers or other third parties; it is used only within your browser to run the backup feature.
  • You can disconnect the integration at any time by signing out inside the app or revoking Balance By Day's access from your Google Account security settings. The app deletes its stored token as soon as you do.
  • You can delete previously created backups from the Balance By Day interface, which permanently removes the corresponding file from your Google Drive App Data folder.
